Our Mission

Our mission is to provide temporary shelter to the homeless. To reduce reduce hunger in Onslow County. To work with others service agencies in assisting individuals to find permanent shelter and employment. To establish a firm self-sufficient social center for those who are seeking to improve their lives and become self-supporting members of society.

Our History

Reverend Milton and Odessa Sullivan founded Second Chance Mission in 1985 at Piney Green Church of God in Christ. The Mission is a spiritual and humanitarian outreach ministry that serves as a link between people in need of help and the community. Second Chance Mission of Hope, Inc. was legally established as a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable corporation in 1987.

The Goal

To develop programs which mutually advance the self-sufficiency and wholeness of our residents while providing social, ethical and spiritual guidance.
